Los Angeles-based 90s garage rockers, 9-Iron combined Modern Lovers-inflected power pop (“Coffee Shop,” “How to Talk to Girls,” “Theoretical Mind”) with an array of sonic offerings, ranging from one-minute punk blasts (“Vandalism”) to windswept country-rock laments (“Confidence,” “This Town Again”).
Shifting band membership included Will Baum (Love Child), Tony Maxwell (That Dog), Ben Daughtrey (Squirrel Bait; drums, 1993-95), and John Goldman (John Gold; bass, 1995-99).
